Fireworks by Nora Zech, Germany

It is Saturday and our fifth day of working at our Chitose declaration. Today we discussed the topic of Global Health. Everybody was tired but nevertheless most of us were in a good mood. We worked quite hard and the discussions went along as efficiently as the previous day, even if there were a couple of technical difficulties. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of friendship. Day to day it gets much harder to remember that we ever have done something else than working together. It gets much harder to realize that we will have to say ‘Goodbye’ in a few days. In the afternoon we had to hurry up because we were invited to the ‘Lake Shikotsu- Festival’. After dinner all of us went to the nature reserve in which the festival was held. It was a great experience! We got involved in a traditional Japanese musical performance. In the end some members of the Junior8 community danced on the stage as well. This evening was a chance to talk to young Japanese people of the region and to learn more about our host country. The perfect ending of the day was the impressive fireworks on Lake Shitkotsu. It reminds me on New Year’s Eve in Germany.
Hope the next days are going to be as fine as this Saturday!
